Fed 100 Winner: Steve Davis, OCIO Director of Infrastructure and Cloud Operations at the Department of Labor

Hosted by GovExec and FCW, the Fed 100 represent government and industry leaders who have gone above and beyond to show how technology can be leveraged to make the government run more efficiently.

In February, GovExec officially published its 2023 list of Fed 100 winners, which (as always) highlighted the best-of-the best of executives from government who are expanding federal IT into new and innovative arenas.

Much like our recent coverage about Gundeep Ahluwalia, CIO at the Department of Labor (DoL) being named a 2022 Fed 100 winner, we wanted to shine a light on Steve Davis, OCIO Director of Infrastructure and Cloud Operations at DoL.

The core foundation of the OCIO’s efforts is around its DoL IT Platform, which offers an enterprise-wide solution to meet agency business needs. These include public facing customer portals, case and service management, data sharing and analytics, and content management.

The IT Platform offers a secure, cloud-based environment, which aims to enhance productivity, and assists project teams with best practices for success. The platform plays a major role for the agency by consolidating resources, eliminating redundancies, and enhancing security, while also accelerating modernization.

As key example of the platform’s success, Apprenticeship.gov offers career-seekers a digital platform to search by city, state, and occupation. The tool easily connects job seekers to high-skilled, high-paying careers by aggregating 1.4 million job postings that focus on apprenticeships.

Congratulations to Steve Davis for being named a 2023 Fed 100 winner!

Last year, we announced that MakNuAx, the SBA-approved Joint Venture between Makpar and NuAxis Innovations, was awarded a contract to provide enterprise service desk support services for the DoL.
